F02 1E - Palm

The palm is one of the most beautiful and resistant plants. There are about three thousand species. The palm, large and strong, is universally considered a symbol of victory.

In the Bible it is very present, from the book of Exodus to the historical books of Kings, Chronicles and Judges, it is present in the Song of Songs that compares to it the beloved and the beloved, the palm is placed to adorn the great Solomonic Temple; In the psalms the righteous is compared to the luxuriant palm that bears fruit.

In Christian iconography a palm tree is placed in the hands of the martyrs.
